Alumni News -- January 2009

Laura (Ladner) Allday (97) and her husband Jason live in Birmingham and have two boys. Jason works for AT&T and Laura is able to stay home with the boys.

Cathy (Sanders) Alley (84-89) and her husband Glenn live in Arkansas where he pastors a church and she works at a local bank. They have 2 sons, Dawson (10) and Brandon (8).

Dorothy (Whittington) Bailey (92,99) and her husband Josh just celebrated the first birthday of their daughter Maggie, born December 27, 2007.

Mike Ball (95) and his wife Amanda will be going as missionaries to Fiji in April.

Katrina (Rabren) Blaylock (97-98) and her husband Johnny also celebrated the first birthday of their son, Justis Mason, last year. This summer they moved from Germany to Fort Hood, TX, and Johnny is currently deployed on his second tour to Iraq.

Christina (Egler) Borden (95-97) and her husband Brett moved in September when Brett was stationed in Texas. Their son Stephen is four years old and got the true welcome to Texas when he met the fire ant! Christina has started a non-profit charity called Blankets for Babies (www.blankiesforbabies.com) and is enjoying being closer to home.

Chuck Bounds (late 70’s) will be graduating seminary in May with and MDiv with Christian Education emphasis. His oldest son Jake is in his first year of college, and his wife Martha Jo home schools their other two children, Ben (15) and Pat (11).

Holly (Vail) Byrd (93-00) and her husband Steve had their first daughter, Olivia, on November 11, 2008. “Big brother” Landon is excited about his baby sister.

Misty (Moon) Caddell (04-07) and her husband Marlin were married June 21, 2008. Misty is teaching 9th-12th grade English at American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Charlotte (Martin) Cawthon (84) and her husband Cavin were recently appointed as missionaries with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. They hope to be in Costa Rica around April or May of 2009.

Aaron Chapman (92, 94-95) and his wife live in Mesquite, Texas where he works as a general manager for Radio Shack.

Tami (White) Ellison (95) lives in North Carolina with her husband Scott who pastors a local church. They have four children, ages 1-7.

Corey Errett (02) has been a youth pastor in Lakewood, NY for almost five years. He and his wife Brianne have two children, Daylan (2) and Decklan, born in December.

Patty (Moscato) Faircloth (95-96) and her husband Josh live in Brundidge, AL and have been married for 6 years. Patty is a licensed social worker and works with Pike County Department of Human Resources. They currently have no children, but their black lab, Saban, doesn’t realize that!

Dan Gustafson (83-85) and his wife Theresa were married in 1998 and have two children, Noah (8) and Gloria (5). Dan has been serving in full-time Christian camping for almost 15 years. He currently serves as the Facilities and Food Service Director at Look Up Lodge Christian Camp in South Carolina.

Teresa (Fontenot) Hawkins (early 70’s) and her husband Paul are going on 34 years of marriage and have two grown children. Teresa retired from teaching and now works at an office that manufactures dental equipment.

Mel Infinger (99-00) is serving as an intern at River Valley Ranch in Maryland.

Roger Kostelny (94-95) and his wife Summer live in St. Cloud, FL. They have two sons, Caleb and Rylan. Roger graduated from University of Central Florida in 2000 with a BS in hospitality management. He is currently a chef at Sea World.

Beth (Southworth) Lane (91) and her husband Michael live in Starkville, MS where he works for Mississippi State University. They have 5 children, ages 3 months to 9 years. Beth stays busy as a home school mom.

Sarah (Maney) Mascarich (92-94) and her husband John are living in Louisville, KY and celebrated the birth of their first child, Edie, on July 31, 2008.

Cara McCrummen (99-08) and Philip Morris were married on December 6, 2008.

Jeff Miller (85) and his wife Jodi have been married for 11 years and have two children, Landon (9) and Autumn (7). Jeff has been in full-time church ministry since 1993 and served as a children’s pastor since 1995.

Leslie Owen (00-01) and Gregory Harbold were married in August 2008.

Susannah Perry (97) and Jonathan Craig were married August 9, 2008 in Jackson, MS.

Paige Ratzlaff (01-04) graduated from Bryan College in May 2008. She and Paul Gutacker were married on May 25, 2008.

Michelle Reid (99-00) is enjoying life in Birmingham, AL where she works with the Hoover City School System.

Rebekah (Riggan) Robertus (02)and her husband Nathan welcomed their second child in July.

Hannah Seay (02-07) graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2008.

Brittney Simpson (03-07) has one more semester of nursing school. She and Tim Riggs (04, 07) are engaged to be married August 22, 2009. Tim is the Hispanic Ministries Director at the First Baptist Church in Samson, AL.

Carlos Valdez (03) is working as an accountant and was married in May 2008.

Kaycee Venable (04) graduated from Florida State University Panama City campus in April 2008 with her Bachelor of Social Work.

Jack and Julie Walker (91) live in Indiana where he pastors a church and she teaches at a Christian academy. They have four children.

Jennifer (Heichel) Withrow (95-96) is teaching at Straughn High School and working on a master’s degree in English Language Arts.

Drew Yates (03-04) and his wife Kim celebrated the birth of their first child, Caleb Tyler (Ty) on June 20, 2008.
