Summer 2008 Staff Openings
Are you looking for a summer ministry? We are looking for college-age students who are committed to serving the Lord and reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Camp Victory has many opportunities for serving the Lord this summer:
*Camp Counselor -- Counselors live in cabins with 8-10 campers and become leaders and role models for the campers. They are responsible for safety and leadership in a specific recreational activity each week, participating in group games and recreation, and leading morning devotions in the cabins. Counselors are a vital part of the camping program as they do their best to carry out the aims and objectives of the camp.
*Office Assistant -- Our office assistant works in the camp office during the week, assisting in registration and day-to-day office procedures. Some basic computer skills are needed. He/She will also go through counselor training and be available as a substitute counselor.
*Horsemanship Assistant -- We need someone who is both knowledgeable and comfortable working with horses and children in a teaching environment.
*Kitchen Staff -- An assistant cook is needed who would work with the head cook in food preparation, serving during mealtimes, and clean up. Food service is a vital part of our summer camp program.
*Recreation Assistant -- This position assists the program director in planning out the entire program and also leads evening games.
*First Aid Assistant -- The first aid assistant assists the first aid provider in taking care of the health and well being of the campers and staff.
Staff Training
Summer staff come for a week of training before campers arrive. This week is designed to give staff a clear understanding of their responsibilities and provide training in these areas. This includes specific training in leading cabin devotions, leading recreational activities, and how to lead a young person to Christ. We want to provide staff members with training and experience that will be helpful in their future relationships, jobs, and ministries. Staff are not paid for this week but receive $175 a week plus room and board and insurance for eight weeks of camp.
